Submarines are man only zones!

Now to undertake the feminisits.  As we all know women have never been allowed to serve on US submarines. Yes, this is a little bit sexist. But, who reall ycares. I know we should not push back against change, but if you have never lived in a subrmine life ten you can not honestly say you know how this will affect the US submarine community.

First off, have you ever had to take a shower with the smallest amount of water? This is because on a submarine we make our own water and also have to pump it overboard. This means you have to be able to hold it inside till you pump it overboard. So firstly the women would have to keep their hair short like a mans. How many would be willing to do this? Probably not very many!!

Secondly, have you ever had to take a part a valve that is clogged with something? Femine hygene products don't flush well. Now you are forcing somone else to take apart a valve and clean up your unsanitary problem. Well one would say to just throw it in the garbage. This garbage is compressed by pressure of upwards to 3000 psi. So your little problem just crushed and flew every where. We already have this problem with not enough restrooms and watchstanders.

Since we have already brought up bathrooms we shall continue on this avenue. Since we are a society of equal opportunity and privacy, the bathroom (head) would have to be secured for female usage during certain times. So now the crew loses 3 toilets, 4 sinks and 2 showers (half available) to one or 2 females. So where is the fairness in that?

What about casualty response teams? Have you ever had to carry a 120lb pump up and down steep stairs and ladders?? I highly doubt a 120lb woman would be able to do the same. Even the smallest guy on a submarine is required to do this. And do it quickly. Now you have put the crew's lives at risk. Is it really worth being a pioneer to prove something or making sure that the 160+ crew makes it home safely everytime.

Lastly, what about pregnancy??? Men don't get pregnant. We don't need to have special doctors to help us through our problems. So now you are down a crew memeber and short on watchstanders, since someone wanted  a baby.

For what it's worth, if the submarine was designed around a woman, then maybe I would support it. But as it lies now, it not and we are just trying to cater to the pro-woman choice. I am not sexist, I just don't see the big deal of having to have a woman on a submarine that wasn't designed for this. That is what I have to say for now.

Socialistic Infrastructure and the United States National Debt

Has anyone ever heard of the saying "screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me"? This is exactly how our government officials should be feeling. What happened when, supposedly, Wall Street fell? The government ran in and helped clean up the supposed mess. Now the tax payers own stocks in companies that only really needed a payday loan or maybe liquidate some of their assets. But, no. We as the freedom of entreauprenorship decided we wanted to put our hand in that cookie jar so we can help run the company in to the ground.

Let's think about this first of all. The US government is $13.9 trillion in the red. That should be a flag that the government can't even run their own company, so why would we want to go into business with them? Their philosophy is to just throw money or lower interest rates at the problems!!

One may ask how we got into this conundrum. Simple, we think we run the world and need to be big brother to everyone with their hands out or the ones that are thinking about putting their hands out. There are 1 million or more people homeless now in the US. Most of the shelters in the US are run with donated moneys, very little government funding. What program do we have to help them? What program do we have gives them billions of US dollars or building programs with the US military? What about all the children that may be homeless or live in inhabitable establishments? Do we forget about the people around us or are we just oblivious to it all.

We are a giving nation and I understand this. But don't go shitting in someone else's yard until yours is finished. War is supposed to bring economies out of debt, we have just dug deeper with all the other programs and bailouts that our congress has expressedly passed and tried to make part of their re-election campaigns. Let's divert some of the funding and build houses, shelters, agriculture training and research. How many inner city youth children would survive if we took them out in to the farm lands and taught them how to work with their hands and helped them get settled in this type of occupation? How many people have even thought about it? Probably a lot, the problem lies within the wavos of the people we have elected into office.

So with that, here are some solutions on how to improve the national debt and help decrease the possibility of running into this mess in the future.

1.  Stop all outgoing aid
2.  Fire Congress (they haven't done anything but keep stepping in the proverbial shit pond)
3.  Make a new national lottery and put the profits towards programs that involve education, housing,    national debt, etc.
4. Get rid of how many congressmen and senators we have (do we really need hundreds of them?)
5. Hold re-election and give each state 2 seats in the Senate and 1 in Congress. (Now this gets rid of extra incomes that we have been paying out on. Not to mention all the excess luxuries that they use and enjoy.
6. Require all able bodies youth 18-20 to serve 2-3 years in the military. (You may ask why on this one, but let's think about it. When do the get their education? Do they actually have any work experience when they enter the work field? Will this take off some of the parent’s responsibilities and kindness to support?)

These are just 6 of my quick fix factors and suggestions. I know that know one would ever listen to just a simple man or his ideas, especially since I don't have an alphabet behind my name. Once again, these are just my thoughts and ideas. The facts are not exact, since there are so many different publications that have uncorresponding information.

Military Removes Ban on Don't Ask Don't Tell

On December 22, 2010 Congress (the wisest of the United States) repealed the ban on the Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) policy that had been in effect since 1993. I really do not have a problem with gay's. I have a couple of friends that are and a friend that has gender identification disorder. We are still friends even after I found out. Now we come to the part as if I would have worked with them in my job on a submarine. The answer is no.

I am not a homophobic, nor judgemental. The job and work I had to do while stationed on the USS Nevada as a Missile Technician were not always pleasent or were you allowed much space. When you have a guy that has to put his head on your crotch so that he can watch you work and assure you aren't tampering with a vital system, then I have to say it is not the place for a gay person. It's hard enough to concentrate on the task at hand, but even more when you think that the person might find you attractive and take advantage of the situation.

My last problem would be with the moral and segregation of the ship. Yes, the ship does segregate. You have the newbies, dolphin wearing blue shirts, goats and then the officers. Then you will just throw a whole new group that will be bombarded with constant hazing and harrassment. I know what you are thinking, what about the women they are introducing into the sumbarine community? Don't even get me started on that. It's not that people would hate them per se, but more of their beliefs and the part of being different. Just as in everyday life.

This is just my opnion and should be no way used against any other entity or group. Thanks.
